First-move strategy
Level: Basic
The first click is safe, so aim for a spot that opens up wide.
In this game the first click is always safe, and no mine is placed on the cell you open first or the ones around it. So your first move has a high chance of creating a 'wide clearing' where a chain of 0s opens up.
If you pick a spot near the center of the board, or one that can spread in several directions, a lot of cells open at once and you get plenty of clues. That's why the center beats the corners.
Once your first move opens a wide area, start confirming the numbers along its border, one step at a time. The wider the opened area, the more room there is to solve by logic.
