Using Flags and Chording

Keeping your markings tidy and speeding up with chords.

Flags mark confirmed mine cells to prevent mistakes and make your next deductions easier. On mobile, turn on flag mode to place them with a tap, or long-press a cell to mark it.

Chording is the feature that reveals the surroundings of an open number cell in one press. It only works when the adjacent flag count equals that number, and it instantly opens all the remaining safe cells.

Chording speeds things up dramatically, but if a flag is wrong, even a mine can open and cost you the game. It's safest to use only when your flags are certain.
